Lyrics

Looking Above

On an autumn night in this town, we watched the stars dance
In a heavenly playground
We dream of perfect peace as we make out commitments
Remember who is looking down

I never meant to make you sad
I only wanted to offer you love
And If you want me you can always find me
In my room, looking above

The world displays some fine illusions
One man's truth
Is another delusion
Far beyond this strange mirage, please don't hate me
For a moment of confusion
I Gave my all in strange human ways
You are the glass I pour the wine of love
Far across the great divide
I'm in this town, still looking above

On an autumn night in this town, we count the moonbeams
And right it all down
We dream of oh so sweet forgiveness, a running stream
From a faithful vow

Tell me how to leave you behind
My broken spirit, my sole testimony
When your memory fills my heart and mind
While I look for you are you looking too

1000 Clocks

Last night a giant hand crawled over the city
Invisible, don't understand, how it could be so scary
Six numbers, small change, not sure it was worth it
The full moon faces the stranger, the moon cried down to the earth

The feeling was exponential, Plugging me in like a jukebox
Shes so Inconsequential, like the ticking of a thousand clocks

Last night a giant mouth, proved true the power of suggestion
Visible, clearly heard, It only left me to question,
When I'm confused, she's amused, you won't even find half a heart
I want to turn, I want to run, but I don't know where to start

The feeling was exponential, in disarray like a toolbox yea
She's so inconsequential, like the ticking of a thousand clocks

She takes it all in her stride,
I'm sure there's nothing left inside her
To make me that rich
What once was implied,
Is shouted from the rooftops, and my hands are tied
My hands are tied
And I'm never gonna be apart, of the lottery of your heart
I'm never gonna be apart, of the lottery of your heart
No no
No no
No no
No No No, Well I tore up my ticket so give me some credit

Last night a giant hand crawled over the city

Way to your heart

If someone asked me for directions, I can always get them there
I've got the answers to all kinds of
Questions, I haven't read a lot of books I swear
But I know my way across the city
I could give anyone a start
But I don't know, no I don't know The way to your heart

Well I cast you up in iron, I put you on a pedestal
And I made myself a sacrifice to make you a hero
Just though that you should know
I know my way down every blind alley
But the one thing that tears me apart
Is I don't know, no I don't know
The way to your heart
Well I could cover you I kisses or smother you in anger
Would you think I was a jerk?
I might try a little sensitivity or creativity but
Would anything work?
Cause if I could, I know I would
Hit you with loves little dart
But I don't know, no I don't know the way to your heart
The way to your heart

Your secret heart

Golden days of summertime, beautiful and blue earth
Memories are rushing in out of time,
Although there mine, for what it's worth
I can dream anything, the sound of a distant voice,
I can fly anytime, I don't know why I even try, I have no choice

And I've just had the most stupid idea in the world
As I float above the earth,
That I'm someone, and everyone needs someone,
Just wanted to send a message through
A hundred things that I would like to say to you would only be a start
Just needed to make it up to you
Where I stand nothing is hidden from my view, but I just can't see
I just can't see your secret heart,
Your secret heart your secret heart your secret heart

Silver bird getting high, oblivious to the scene
That's down below, where all of the flowers grow
Even they know that I say what I mean

And I've just had the most stupid idea in the world
As I float above the earth,
That I'm someone, and everyone needs someone,
Just wanted to send a message through
A hundred things that I would like to say to you would only be a start
Just needed to make it up to you
Where I stand nothing is hidden from my view, but I just can't see
I just can't see your secret heart,
Your secret heart your secret heart your secret heart

Nightingales
Dreams they say are like nightingales, they can fly away
I don’t believe in tomorrow, I believe in today
You sit with one hand clapping, I watch the wheels
You gotta walk for miles in these shoes to know how it feels

Well I can always extend my reach, but I'm not saying you must
You can learn what I gotta teach but you just
Might as well let those nightingales fly
I build my castles in the air, from the sweet by and by

You gotta listen to what dreams say now, cause miracles happen every day
And I believe there’s one coming my way, oh wow

Dreams they say are like setting suns, they don’t say so long
They believe that there right, I know they’re wrong
Cause I believe in the things I believe and
And I know there’s a fire burning somewhere though you can’t perceive it

You gotta listen to what dreams say now, cause miracles happen every day
And I believe there’s one coming my way, oh wow

Oriental Art

Here I am
And I watch you swim, against the tide
It must be my pride
So face my demands –

This coin ill toss
Heads or tails - deep or wide
These rivers I cross swallow me inside

Make a wish, it comes true, and anyone can tell you
How to play the strings of my heart
And I wish that I knew something pure
Like oriental art in the land of the immortals

And did you find
The elixir that makes things clear
With nothing to fear
This gives peace of mind

All this way why did you stay when I've nothing to give
And not much to say excepting my heart and the
Music about the life I live - back to chorus to fade
Make a wish, it comes true, and anyone can tell you
How to play the strings of my heart
And I wish that I knew something pure
Like oriental art in the land of the immortals

Completely

I sit and watch the clock, as the time ticks away

And I count the hours until you are mine

Is it tomorrow, is it today?

Don’t you wanna be loved?

Well I guess everybody does

And I have a heart, and I have a love

That anyone would be proud of

Can't wait until the night, when you say it's alright

And you stop trying to win, all you can do is give in

But sweetly and completely

Completely

Completely

SO sweetly and completely

Completely

Completely

California Sunshine

Don’t call the fire brigade

Can’t stop these fires from burning

And the last thing I want to hear today is that old story again

And if the everglades, ever let a scream for mercy

Gonna stop my ears for years and years, let my motor run

Do they know what they’re doing?

That the road to heaven is the road to ruin

California sunshine I breathe the air in, Yeaaa it feels fine

You see some visions, you talk about direction

Will the future blame the present flame when there’s no money left to burn

So goodbye to the tv news, and all that mother nature blues

So much better blind if it freeze the mind of what dangerous to learn

And do they know what they’re doing

That the road to heaven is the road to ruin

California sunshine, I breathe the air in, yeaaa it feels fine

And do you love the night? The rain comes in but never mind

All is black and white when visions down your colour blind

And excuse me if I don’t hear what you’re saying

I almost thought by now you’d be on your knees and praying

California Sunshine, I breathe the air in yea feels fine

Little Asher

She pushed it a little too far, yeh
The boat strung to the harbour
She might share her tiny world
Like a different girl
If only she had got a world to share

She makes me feel defenceless
Though In weakness I am strong
She's vicious and she's senseless
And I can guess
Every little thought that happens to hitch along

She knows all the right moves
She knows all the right moves
She breaks it down
As if everybody knows

She gets all the action, dreams of fame, multicultural condos
Did anybody think of love
Is that something to be ashamed of
I don't think so
And I just want you to know
That I wanted to go
When I saw the burns
Little Asher

Did anybody think of love
Is that something to be ashamed of
I don't think so
And I just want you to know
That I wanted to go
When I saw the burns
Little Asher

All ready gone
Had to work early on a Friday morning
And catch the bus to the nine to five
I should be sleeping when the day is dawning
Look my face shows I'm barely alive

Mama says I've got to make a living
But living is something that you do when you get back home
Don’t look for me cause I'm already gone

The boss is always looking over my shoulder
Making sure I've got all my work done
Look I the mirror you find your 20 years older
The contract didn’t say that you would have fun

Mama said I just can't be lazy
Always stuck in the shade instead of the sun

Don’t look for me cause I'm already gone
